The Dutch-Belgian Synchrotron/Neutron/FEL workshop

and Symposium on synchrotron based imaging and spectroscopy

The meeting aims at bringing together Belgian and Dutch users of Synchrotron and Neutron/FEL facilities and will be specifically devoted to presentations/discussions regarding upcoming new and upgraded large scale facilities, such as the ESRF EBS, XFEL and ESS. Next to presentations devoted to the new scientific opportunities provided by these facilities, selected application highlights will illustrate research exploring the structure, physics and chemistry of matter by means of synchrotron radiation and neutron beams.

This meeting is part of a series of workshops that have brought together the Dutch and Belgian users of synchrotron and neutron facilities. It offers the possibility for the different communities of physicists, chemists, biochemists and other scientists to discuss common problems and the state of the art possibilities offered at the large scale facilities currently in use.

The meeting will also host a special symposium on synchrotron-based X-ray imaging and spectroscopy on the first day (March 19), giving the opportunity to discuss the future development of the ESRF Dutch-Belgian Beamline (DUBBLE) in the context of the ESRF EBS Upgrade. The presence and active participation of the scientific community in this discussion is of great importance in shaping the future of this facility.

Participation is free of charge. Registration by March 14, however, is compulsory. Abstracts of the posters to be presented on the plenary day are expected to be submitted during the registration.

On behalf of the Organizing Committee, we kindly invite you to the SyNew 2018 workshop that will be held in the beautiful city of Ghent, Belgium.
